LEAF2025 electroKissa

The electroKissa is based on the Listening Bar, or Jazz Kissa, which originated in Japan and has spread around the world. The focus is on deep listening to well-crafted recordings of electronic music, often on vinyl, on an outstanding high end audio system.

There will be 3 nights of electroKissa: May 27, 28 and 29. Sessions will begin at 7PM sharp in Grimes Hall at the Center for Musical Arts. This is a ticketed event.

The sound system for electroKissa has been designed by Darren Myers, with support from wavi savi. For non-audiophiles, suffice it to say it will be an exemplary listening experience. For the audiophiles, it includes these components:

• Spatial Audio Labs M3 Speakers
• Parasound JC A100 Monoblocks
• Six Reference 18” Subwoofers powered by PS Audio Amplification
• PS Audio DirectStream MKII DAC
• PS Audio Line Preamp
• PS Audio Stellar Phono Preamp
• Sota Cosmos Eclipse Turntable w/Denon DL-103R cartridge

Programming for each night is curated by:
• DJ E23 – KGNU Electronic Air
• soundScrape()
• Nathan Jantz & Jahnavi Stenflo
• Michael Loehr

There is limited, themed seating for this series of events. The vibe is a cross between hip downscale club, and high-school era parents basement. Tickets include light snacks (charcuterie courtesy Maria Redondo of Romero’s), cash wine bar (courtesy Public Wine).

Each night will be limited to 16 participants. Programming will be organized into 3 – 30 minute sets of music. Following each set there will be a short intermission. Quiet during listening sessions is expected.
