Artists Name: Andrew Blanton
Brief Bio: Andrew Blanton is an Associate Professor in the CADRE Media Labs at San Jose State University and a PhD student in music composition at the University of California Berkeley working closely with the Center for New Music and Audio Technology (CNMAT). His current work focuses on the emergent potential between cross-disciplinary arts and technology in the context of Music Composition, New Media Art, and building sound + visual environments through software development.
About the work (PØLARITIES: Remembrance of a past future): Remembrance of a Past Future is a 5 min animation discussing our current understanding of a world in flux. The work is a narrated animated short discussing the loss of utopian ideals and the realization of a future where our species is in parrel due to excessive consumption of our planet’s natural resources.
