Spices Peculiar and Samantha Veda weave a unique fusion of acoustic and electronic instruments to transport you to a sonic realm of bliss or, perhaps, a journey deep within. Between Samantha’s gong, chimes and other instruments rooted in ancient sounds paired with Dante’s synthesizer, flute and percussion looping rig, this improvised performance will be far more than your ordinary sound bath. Join us at the closing event of LEAF 2026 as we explore the interplay of both ancient and modern frequencies of sound.
Artist Bios
Spices Peculiar is the improv looping project of Denver-based musician Dante Villagomez — a sound shaped by the live looping of Critter & Guitari synthesizers, percussion, flutes, and singing bowls that form deep, meditative soundscapes. Drawing equally from ambient electronics, world music, and sound healing traditions, his performances function as improvised ceremonies: no two sets are alike. His compositions are produced to take listeners on a journey of introspection and self-discovery, using the power of sound to create a meditative and transformative experience.
Samantha Veda creates immersive sound experiences using gongs, antique Himalayan singing bowls, monochords and other instruments rooted in ancient acoustic sounds. With a background shaped by years of ceremonial facilitation, Samantha has devoted her life to exploring sound as tools for healing, presence, and awakening. She specializes in holding space and facilitating sound ceremonies for individuals and groups working in non-ordinary states for personal and integrative transformation.
